This mural is in downtown Bakersfield on the outside wall of Serrano's Furniture,
1330 19th Street and "K" Street.

The new restored Bakersfield Sign at it's new home I was called one day by Darlene Gonzalez, she wanted to know if I could help AmeriCorps and some of her students at Community Learning Center with practical experience on a mural project to Commemorate the 100th birthday celebration year (1998) of Bakersfield, California.
This is the second mural I have contributed to AmeriCorps and the Kern County Superintendent of Schools (Mural Number One) is on display in the lobby of KCSOS, 1300 17th Street CITY CENTRE, Bakersfield, CA 93301-4533

A special thank you to two student artists: Gilbert Cabrera and Elizabeth Acevedo both started with this project and worked until it's completion.
